Love Stories

Anything is possible in love. Imagine this situation. A doctor falls in love with a nurse who works closely with him in the local hospital. Both start dating, but somewhere the doctor realizes he doesn’t love the nurse anymore.

Anything is possible in love. Imagine this situation. A doctor falls in love with a nurse who works closely with him in the local hospital. Both start dating, but somewhere the doctor realizes he doesn’t love the nurse anymore. The heartbroken nurse is looking for someone to mend her broken heart. She ends up meeting the doctor’s cousin somewhere. Before you know it, the cousin and the nurse start dating. They both realize they love each other, think about getting married, and everybody is happy. End of story. Think it was a stupid plot? Well, think again.

The story mentioned above is actually the plot of a best selling novel. If one has to break down the plots of most romantic quotes & novels, they would actually seem quite silly. So why then are most of the romantic novels in the world such bestsellers then? Because love sells. Love stories simply stand the test of time, and give generations hope on which to build their perfect love story. The earliest love stories were often told in the form of songs, or ballads passed down from one generation to another, till they were written as stories to read. Then came the immortal ‘Romeo and Juliet’, which gave birth to the notion that dying for love was a heroic act. One would find similar love stories from across the world, such as Laila- Majnu or Heer- Ranjha. Each celebrating love.

The truth is that love stories will love on. Boys will hope they find a woman who will stand by them and girls will keep hoping they find men who will die for them. It is not for nothing that generations have grown up on Mills and Boons, and Danielle Steele. It is all part of the race in the search for the perfect love story.

Is it love?

Author: William Benjamin

‘Love’ is a word; which brings you in dream world, where you have unique feelings, affections and an unknown excitement.

‘Love’ is a word; which brings you in dream world, where you have unique feelings, affections and an unknown excitement. Some of the people say, it is not the matter of saying or expressing, but just of feeling; it is just a flavor, which you can only taste, not tell to anyone, while other describe that the more you express, less. Whatever is there, but most of the couples believe that having something great for someone is a starting of great relation. Are you also one, who finds any thing like the starting of love? You must come to chaise the following; in order to know whether it is love or something else.

People don’t chaise the philosophy; they know it’s hard. Probably, that’s why they just want to be in real world. What happens initially, as males see someone with coral lips, rosy cheeks or star like eyes or females find a handsome, stylish or muscleman, they start imagining. This is not bad; it’s true that both attract to each other. But dear, it’s only an attraction, not love. Love is something that occurs itself. You never need to think or imagine about that; suddenly, without any extra effort, someone will come out of crowd for you. Don’t believe? All right, I’m going to try with an example of my friend:

My friend jack is a tourism advisor and has an attractive personality. You all know that tourism is a profession, where you meet several different kinds of people. He shared with me that one day, a well-figured girl, around 25, came to him for professional purpose; they talked for a long time later. Here, a new and exciting relation started. They are continuing on dates today also, although, later they came to know that both are married. He says that he knows it’s bad, and she isn’t in love with him, still he is unable to say her ‘good buy’. She also doesn’t have any problem, and they both come close to each other, whenever they need.

The above is what often occurs with the people. But this example may help you to realize that it’s not what you understand. Attraction also has a strong existence, but it doesn’t create a relationship that has the right elements to grow up happily forever. There is something missing. Yes, it is the lack ness of something what you want to feel; the trust, you search.

Actually, attraction and love both are caused by the different hormones. Attraction is something, which may occur at first look generally called ‘love at first sight’ and may turn into love, later; but the feeling of love takes time. There is something unknown, which inspires you to faith in one.

This is not the matter of mind, but of heart. Of course, it occurs when all the colors of one’s rainbow match to another one’s. It has much higher feelings than attraction towards someone. So, love and attraction are much different to each other. Physical relationship may be the attraction’s first requirement, but love has no mean with the word “expectation”.
There is a complete satisfaction in love, not only physical, but spiritual also.

Love Letters and Writing Love Letters

It is often said that Language is the poetry of the soul. When you wish to speak of your love for that one special person, what other better way to do so than by speaking out your heart on perfumed paper, and sealed with a kiss? Yes, we are referring to the humble love letter.

It is often said that Language is the poetry of the soul. When you wish to speak of your love for that one special person, what other better way to do so than by speaking out your heart on perfumed paper, and sealed with a kiss? Yes, we are referring to the humble love letter.

Love letters have their firm place in history, the cause of alliances and the reason for wars. Yet, very few delights can compare to the sweet sorrow that one feels, while writing a love letter. The mode of sending a letter across was also quite different earlier. One would use pigeons for the purpose, or simply send it through a trusted friend. Today too, a love letter is rated as one of the topmost ways of saying I Love You. There is something humble, direct and romantic about reading words on paper. More importantly, you can keep on reading the letter as and when you wish, and even sleep with it under your pillow if you desire. Today, thanks to the commercialization of love itself, one can get so many choices even in letter pads. Gone are the days of plain white paper, now it comes in different shapes, sizes, patterns and colors.

Of course not all of us can speak out matters of the heart with such eloquence like an orator. Which is why for the rest of us we can now refer to websites which will help us say what we want the right way? There are sites with ready love letters already put up. All you need to do is copy them word for word, and then post the letter to your love. One cannot deny however that in the face of technology, a handwritten love letter still holds its own place.

Love at first sight

Author: Shweeta Bhandari

There are but a mere hundred ways to fall in love, and yet possibly nothing has thus swayed the imagination of poets, writers and people than this- falling in love with a person on first sight.

There are but a mere hundred ways to fall in love, and yet possibly nothing has thus swayed the imagination of poets, writers and people than this- falling in love with a person on first sight. What is it about meeting a person you fancy and just knowing that you will be spending the rest of your life with him or her? It truly is hard to define such a feeling in words. People say that you have to experience it to know it.

Experts say that falling in love at first sight has more to do with outward appearances or a particular facial feature. There is nothing scientific about it. Most of us have an image in our minds about how we would like our prospective partner to look like, even detailing minor details such as the color of the hair and the eyes. Subconsciously, your mind has the image imprinted firmly, and when you come across such a person, it is possible that, your mind matches the image it has with what it sees in front of you. Which is why most people who fall in love, actually end up with the kind of people they were looking for in the first place? Others say that it is not love but a liking which takes place at first sight, and when the interest is pursued, becomes a full emotion.

However whatever people say, wherever you look, love at first sight sells. Be it in an advertisement, as Valentine’s Day or even in a movie. If you had to randomly ask people to name their favorite movies, one is bound to be a love story, which celebrates love at first sight. No matter what society thinks, falling in love at first sight will always make up a huge part of our fantasies. So If you ever fall in love and want to add flavors to it, then checkout the love quotes section at one of the best website in quotations and poems www.best-quotes-poems.com

Feeling Lonely?

Author: Loveworth.com

Feeling Lonely? It makes you more stronger than before.

The feeling of being empty inside can make us lonely, or even depressed. I have a friend who got cheated on by his girlfriend about three months ago. She felt she didn’t have a future with him. Even though he said that both of them made mistakes in their relationships, he felt that he could have treated her better. Both of them have strong characters, so they clash with each other. I told him not too worry about it because everything happens for a reason.

There were many flaws in his relationships and he felt somewhat good that it ended. He spent a year and half with his ex-girlfriend, and he didn’t like how it ended. Like I said, everything happens for a reason. During his three months of being single, he has been dating around. From time to time, he keeps telling me that he missed having a girlfriend. At this point, I know he feels lonely because he is used to having someone on his side. He likes to dance, hang out, and eat at good restaurants with a person he loves. Even though he is recuperating by dating around, he doesn’t want to feel lonely. Overall, being lonely can help you get stronger. You will have more time for yourself so you can evaluate what you want in life, love, and relationships. If you feel lonely, try to date other people, or hang out with friends and family. Just don’t let loneliness overtake you!

Valentine's Day

Have you ever wondered how Valentine's Day came to be?

The Story behind St. Valentines Day is a fascinating one. Although February 14th is celebrated as a lovers' holiday today, with the giving of candy, flowers, Valentine's Day card and other gifts between couples in love, it originated as a tribute to St. Valentine, a Catholic bishop.

As early as the fourth century B.C., the Romans engaged in an annual young man's rite of passage to the God Lupercus. It's earliest orgin was the Roman festival Lupercalia, observed on Feb. 15. Lupercalia celebrated the coming of Spring on the Roman calendar. Lupercalia became a celebration intended to ensure the fertility of flocks, fields and people.

The names of the teenage women were placed in a box and drawn at random by adolescent men; thus, a man was assigned a woman companion (a sexual partner) for the duration of the year, after which another lottery was staged. After eight hundred years of this cruel practice, the early church fathers sought to end this practice.

In an effort to do away with the pagan festival, Pope Gelasius ordered a slight change in the lottery. Instead of the names of young women, the box would contain the names of saints. Both men and women were allowed to draw from the box, and the game was to emulate the ways of the saint they drew during the rest of the year. Needless to say, many of the young Roman men were not too pleased with the rule changes.

Instead of the pagan god Lupercus, the Church looked for a suitable patron saint of love to take his place. They found an appropriate choice in Valentine, who, in 270 AD had been beheaded by Emperor Claudius.

According to church tradition, St. Valentine was a priest near Rome. At that time the Roman Emperor, Claudius II, had issued an edict forbidding marriage. Claudius had determined that married men made poor soldiers because they were emotionally attached to their families. So he banned marriage from his empire.

Valentine, a bishop , seeing the trauma of young lovers, met with them in a secret place, and joined them in the sacrament of matrimony. When Claudius found out about this "friend of lovers," Valentine was thrown in jail and condemned to death.

While Valentine was in prison awaiting his fate, he befriended his jailer, Asterius, who had a blind daughter. Asterius' daughter befriended the kind priest by bringing food and messages to him. Valentine fell in love with the jailer's daughter. Asterius requested that he heal his daughter.
Through his faith he miraculously restored the sight of Asterius' daughter and converted the two of them to Christianity.

After some time in prison the priest was ordered to appear before the Emperor. The emperor, impressed with the young priest's dignity and conviction, first tried to convert him to paganism to save him from certain execution. But Valentine reversed the strategy, trying instead to convert Claudius. He failed. Just before his execution, he asked for pen and paper from his jailor, and signed a farewell message to the jailer's daughter and signed it, "From Your Valentine." He was stoned and beheaded on February 24, 270 AD.

Valentine become a Patron Saint, and spiritual overseer of the annual festival. Although the lottery for women had been banned by the church, the mid-February holiday in commemoration of St. Valentine, involved young Romans offering women they admired and wished to court, handwritten greetings of affection on February 14th.

The greetings eventually acquired the St. Valentine's name. One of the earliest cards was sent in 1415 by Charles, Duke of Orleans to his wife. He was imprisoned in the Tower of London at the time. The card is now preserved in the British Museum.

Advertisment - Today Valentines Day gifts have become a big part of our tradition. We have come a long way from the handwritten note and now Valentine's Day gift baskets are just one of the many forms of gifts that loved ones give to each other on this holiday. You can even buy gift baskets that are custom made for your significant other.

The Story of Cupid

Cupid is the most famous of Valentine symbols. He is known as a mischievous, winged child armed with bow and arrows and is famous for piercing hearts. The arrows signifies desire and emotions of love. Cupid aims those arrows at Gods and Humans, causing them to fall deeply in love.

Cupid has always played a role in the celebration of love and lovers. In ancient Greece he was known as Eros the young son of Aphrodites, the goddess of love and beauty. To the Romans he was Cupid, and his mother was Venus.
There is a very interesting story about Cupid and His mortal Bride Psyche in Roman mythology. Venus was jealous of the beauty of Psyche, and ordered Cupid to punish the mortal. But instead, Cupid fell deeply in love with her. He took her as his wife, but as a mortal she was forbidden to look at him.

Psyche was happy until her sisters persuaded her to look at Cupid. As soon as Psyche looked at Cupid, Cupid punished her by leaving her. Their lovely castle and gardens vanished too. Psyche found herself alone in an open field with no signs of other beings or Cupid.
As she wandered trying to find her love, she came upon the temple of Venus. Wishing to destroy her, the goddess of love gave Psyche a series of tasks, each harder and more dangerous then the last.

For her last task Psyche was given a little box and told to take it to the underworld. She was told to get some of the beauty of Proserpine, the wife of Pluto, and put it in the box. During her trip she was given tips on avoiding the dangers of the realm of the dead. She was also warned not to open the box. But temptation overcame Psyche and she opened the box. But instead of finding beauty, she found deadly slumber.

Cupid found her lifeless on the ground. He gathered the deadly sleep from her body and put it back in the box. Cupid forgave her, as did Venus. The gods, moved by Psyche's love for Cupid made her a goddess.

Today, Cupid and his arrows has become the most popular of love signs, and love is most frequently depicted by two hearts pierced by an arrow. . . Cupid's arrow.

All you need is love

All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.

All you need is love, all you need is love,

All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

There's nothing you can know that isn't known.

Nothing you can see that isn't shown.

Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.

It's easy.

There's nothing you can do that can't be done.

Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.

Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game It's easy.

There's nothing you can make that can't be made.

No one you can save that can't be saved.

Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be in time It's easy.

Love is....
